Electronic Armageddon?
I remember in the 60's we were all shite scared of the yanks and russkies kicking off WWIII, well it seems the biggest worry these days is the threat from space debris destroying our communication satellites.
This would, allegedly, seriously fuck up the world as we know it. Banks and financial institutions unable to operate - which means we couldn't access our cash, planes falling out the sky, hospitals going tits up etc, etc, etc...are we too dependant on electronics?
What highlighted this scare was the fact that they had to move the space station when they spotted some space debris headed towards it, even a tiny sliver of aluminium paint can punch a hole through the skin of the stations hull - fuck me there's billions of tiny debris particles cos every time larger articles collide they create even more thousands of tiny particles.
I mean how would the younger mobile phone generation cope with their whole Twitter, Facefuck, etc, social lives being wiped out in a nano second if it did happen...mass suicide?
The mind boggles.

Very thought provoking. I think the only thing I'd really miss would be the gps that's on the satnav. I don't do the social media stuff, although I suppose this is all, part of that, but Phones are convenient, but I wouldn't miss mine much.
It's about time that those who put all the shite in orbit were made to tidy their crap up.
