Re: New baby in the house
Sort of. He is a Malamute Husky crossed with Japanese Akita. The Husky in him is bred for strength and one on its own can pull over 2000pound!! Yes two THOUSAND pound.
I am not sure what job the Akita was bred for but they are a lovely dog. We got him for nothing as it was either that or the big needle for him, couldn't see that happen.
It was all pretty serendipitous really as we had been talking about getting another dog and hey presto...

Mandy is actually thinking of getting a dog backpack for him. The average size of his breed can pull over 2000 pounds, so a backpack with a couple of litres of water etc. will be no bother.

He is a big gentle baby who wants to kill my chickens, fancies a snack with the cats, and has had a 'gentle' chew on the missus and kids.
So far I am untouched.

You could shave bits to make him look like a lion.

Could stuff pillows with his fur.
I did know someone with Samoyed's who knitted a jumper from their fur.
