Cheese, I disagree. It has the looks of a performance bike, something the Enfield never will be, not reliably anyway.
Quite a few home mechanics have made 700cc Enfield V twins and Enfield did the sort of the same and put two side by side to make a paralell twin that evolved into the Connie.
That is where they should be looking. Or even converting the 500 single into a OHC jobbie.

They can be OK for performance.

Steve finished fourth in Wednesdays Senior Classic Race, with a race average of over 102mph and a best lap of 102.5mph. He ended the race only 8 seconds behind third place, but was delighted to have exceeded his targets of a race finish and a race lap at over 100mph - the first on a British pushrod machine!

What they aint telling you is that the Seeleys had Matchless engines as well.
