Pre-owned Helmets Empty Pre-owned Helmets

I'd like your thoughts on this;

I bought a new helmet last month - a Roof Boxer and made the rookie mistake of not trying it on properly or for long enough in the shop.

It just doesn't feel comfortable and doesn't suit my head.

Now the question is - Would you buy a month old helmet that has been worn but is in mint condition or not? And if so what percentage of the new list price would you pay?

It seems daft to just store it in the cupboard where it would just be a very expensive mistake ...

Cheers,
John

No, I wouldn't buy one,(what size is it?How much) I dont care about my head.

For you John, dont buy second hand, your head is full of clever stuff, mine is full of murder and mayhem.

I've bought a Shoei that deos fit my odd shaped head to replace it already - the Roof was £325 new and I'd like to get a reasonable amount back for it.

Size is XL / XXL

Hmm, Shoei's fit my head as well, so maybe the Roof wouldn't work for me either?
It is my size though. Won't the shop do a deal for you?

Generally no I wouldn't.

But if I knew someone to be honest about it's life then maybe I would. After all if I died you'd find out and live with that guilt.

It was my fat face that caused the problem - top was perfaect but my cheeks and chin caused the problem with the flip front down.

To be honest I didn't think to ask the shop as I know they have a no returns policy on helmets.

That was my thoughts too. Although as it looks as new as any in the shops with no marks got me thinking "how do you know the new one you buy hasn't been dropped in the shop"

Little drops (6' or less) wont do any harm.

Saying that, I hereby start the bidding with a resounding offer of £3.25

So now do I put the cash towards the Shoei or buy something else ...
