Sitting here looking at the tank off my Ariel, well I should be looking at it but I bought a laptop out here and
I am watching youtube videos of finland blokes blowing stuff up.
I was going to put some miles on the fat old lady this month, pulled the cover off it and got
hit by the smell of petrol, she's incontinent. Tank is rusted all over not a spot of clean metal, well there
are sparkles of what I guess is solder on the video of the inside of the tank, great video honest.

Wish I had a chop I could just slap a coffin tank together from a bit of old transit roof.

None of the above. It's a VB.

I never liked VBs, maybe it's the light shit coloured saddles they used to have.

Not all of them. A 1950 model had a separate rear seat and the rider's seat was sprung, unlike the rear frame. Can't post a pic as it's on my 'puter, not a photo hosting site.
Your pic is a later one with rear suspension.

Mines a 1956, same as the one in the pic.
Rigid or plunger are better looking, shorter and probably lighter but I paid batman money.

I eventually got round to sealing my tank. I wasted a load of time doing shit like taping a web cam to a bendy stick and poking it in the tank and making a feature length[well it seemed that way] film of the inside of my tank!
Eventually got it sealed. Anyone needs to seal a tank don't buy Tapox, nothing goes as in the instructions and it so much more complicated than the other sealers.
Before I sealed the tank I shelled out 30 quid on a chinese cafe racer tank for some little jap bike, it doesn't leak and doesn't look to bad.
The original tanks seem to fetch a few hundred quid, I may well flog it and keep the chinky tank.

I will take a pic when I have it bolted on.

Why is it when you have a mill, lathe etc it takes tenty times as long to do everything.
I started making the front bracket for the chinky tank, then decided the bracket has to be sort of universal so I can put it
on my velo, if I ever need an alternate tank on it.
So I progress really slowly and then the whole thing comes to a stop while I try and find the Honda tank mounts, I know
I have some somewhere.

When I was 17 I would have wrapped the top tube with some old inner tube, squeezed the tank over the fatted up top tube.
Then put petrol in it and gone down the pub on it.

I have just been looking on ebay for T bars[yep small tank and T bars I think I may have to do it], 60 quid for bars!

I just remembered a mate has a pair of X bars he had made by the the Pease Pottage chop shop in the early 70's,
They have hung on his wall ever since. I might have to nip round and see if I can borrow them.
Getting some fancy handlebars for your bike that must be a essential journey.

It's still got the normal bars. The chinky tank is all bolted on, with rubber mounts.
Really could do a with a small seat, the original is a whopper, well at least it's not the
light shit brown colour.

Get the entire bike a nice green colour if I was to leave it next to the hedge.

That's frenchies motorbikes your thinking of.

If it's got a barrel of iron and valves in the proper
place, the snails sit and admire it.
