Well, that was a bit of good luck
As most folks on here and elsewhere know, I like a nice Malt whisky. I've tried different Irish whiskeys and most are (to my taste) a bit harsh. I did have a very nice 25 year old Irish (whiskey) that was nice, but as it was very expensive I can't really have any more so it doesn't count. Oh, a very nice Irish landlord gave me one (whiskey) so I didn't even pay for it.
Anyway, as my current job doesn't pay anywhere near as much as the last one, my taste in single malt whiskies has turned to blended whiskies. This has sometimes been average, and sometimes drastic. So as you may gather I'm not really a fan - but needs must as I still like whisky even if it has to be down market. I do have standards though and Thai whisky is shite, I tried it once and that was more than enough.
So, on with the tale. Just before Crimble, there was a special offer on at the local Morrisons for two (!) bottles of Whyte & Mackay 70cl size blended whisky for about £18 or so. Never had any before and the price was right so fukkit, I bought a pair. Opened the first one and had a chuff at it. Bloody Hell!! Very nice. There was a small rider on the label about some sort of competition but I never really bothered, I never win anything, in fact if I fell in a bucket full of nipples, I'd prolly surface sucking my thumb. So, I carried on carrying on as it were and after a few days, lo and behold the bottle of (very nice) blended stuff was gone. Hmm, time to open the other. Not nearly as nice. Bugger.
Then I read the label again. 250 bottles had a blend of 30 year old whiskies in and there was details on the INSIDE of the lid. Out to the bin and retrieve the empty. SHIT!!! It was a winner!!
WTF?!?!
Send off the cap and receive a presentation bottle containing a 30YO blend worth £150. So I did, and here it is!!
So woo and indeed hoo, I had the bottle delivered the other day. The thing is now, do I keep it for a few years and flog it, flog it now, or sup it? Suggestions please, but the favourite at the mo' is to keep it for a bit and flog it to someone with more money than sense then buy several bottles of single malts with the proceeds. Hmmm.

Fuck it, drink it. When're you next likely to get the chance to be on the outside of a tipple of similar quality? Keep the box and bottle, stick the on eBay. Someone will want them.

No you wont Cavey, you wouldn't be able to drive past Al's house to get here, the aroma of that fine scotch whiskey would suck you in.
