Yes, I have, and I also rode one of the first Indian imports, Carl Rosner was the main dealer back then.

I took the bike out (after riding down there on a 57 Matchless) and after about 50 yards I stopped as it felt like I had a rear flat, it was OK, Iso I carried on, stopped again after 50 yards and put it up on the centre stand, got hold of the rear wheel and pushed and pulled, there was about 1" of lateral play at the rim!! It was being caused by the swingarm mounts flexing as they were just thin gussets!

I walked back to Rosners, told him where his bike was, got on my Matchless and rode home.

I don't think this one has been riding about for 32 years with knackered swingarm mounts.
