Still too cold
To go outside and piss about in the garden.
The pond needs cleaning.
The GH needs cleaning.
The front lawn needs cutting.
And lots of other jobs, but bollocks to it we're off in the caravan this weekend - it's all central heated and works off someone else's electric, so it's Newark for us on Saturday.
That's if I can get it out of the place where it's stored, forecast is for snow this w/end and it's cold as charity at the mo'. Brrr!

T'was a tad cool overnight outside. Nice & toasty inside with the central heating and aircon turned warm though!
A couple of decent tots of Jura Superstition kept the bogey man away.

Why didn't you just sit in the shed for the weekend? It would have saved a load of fuel.

Looks wonderful Al, that's the sort of thing me and Anne had planned to do in our, ahem, 'Autumn years'. Get away from the boring humdrum (and the breid snappers) for a wee while.
Had a bottle of that Jura S at ne'erday, didn't manage to finish it before the 2nd - I did have a valiant attempt though, rather nice if I remember.... I think?

Re: Still too cold
Had it.
But the three local lpg places no longer do it and the lpg conversion place no longer does it and has changed to sMART CAR ACCESSORIES!!!!
The Rangie did 125- 145 miles betewwn fill ups. With my new contract that wwould mean two fills in three days!
My "new" car does 550 miles between (diesel) fill ups. and 50 mpg compared to 15!

That’s a lot of miles in a eurobox. Doe the ‘sMART’ people have probs with the ‘W’ key as well or is that a bad stutter?lwt big cheese wrote:

Unfortunately, that seems to be the way nowadays. But locally I have 6 LPG garages within about 5 miles, so getting filled up is easy. I had the conversion done in Thirsk – over an hour away, because their work is brill. I’ve had a service after 70000 miles and new LPG injector solenoid seats at 82000 otherwise no work done at all, so well pleased.lwt big cheese wrote:

I get about 21mpg running round, up to 29 on a run and 16 towing the caravan, so pleased with that as it’s less than half price of diestuff. Multiply by 2 to give £ equivalent with that stinky tractor juice.
Glad you found a new job BTW, even if it’s not what you want/like/enjoy.

Went down last weekend as well. Nice & warm again.
Going next weekend for two nights. Lots of beer & whisky and recorded telly. Lovely, phone off too with any luck then Lanzagrotty for a week.
Sod this reality, I'll stick to planet Alan.

Re: Still too cold
Quite fur king right Al.... enjoy it while you can cos we're a long time curnting dead!
I'm really trying not to swear, it's like smoking, eating real juicy meat and drinking these days , it's going out of fashion like a dose of the pox!
I hope all the future 'enlightened' insipid fannies have the same balls our forebears had in dying in the futile attempt trying to preserve and protect our freedoms from the unenlightened vicious bastards that seem so determined to rip them away from us.
I don't really care anymore. There's an old saying that goes summat like "let the devil take the hindmost" I suppose that could refer to old farts like me that are just too lazy or tired and can't be bothered to run any longer.
Sobeit.
I sincerely hope the enlightened ones enjoy the petty freedoms they fought long and hard for before dying a violent and bloody death in the very near future when others don't quite agree with their petty little dogmas and kill them either for their possessions, for fun or just to eat them as food.
If I could laugh when I'm dead at those fools I would laugh very long and very loud.
Here speaketh cavey the disgruntled old bastard.
R.I.P. Commonsense, it was fucking brilliant while it lasted.
Can you hear me laughing? I'm not dead yet, I'm only testing!

Re: Still too cold
Dunno about the devil taking the hidmost, if he comes for me anytime soon, he'll get a kick in the bollocks as will anyone else that wants what'sw mine.
Most of the time I feel similar - that I can't be bothered to run any more, but as I said above......
Wonder if I can get a swordstick while I'm in Lanzagrotty for when I can pretend to be old?
