Thought I'd give it a wash - looks a bit better now even if I do say so myself...

I'm getting a to-do list together for it, nothing major. Stuff like the radiator to expansion tank hose needs replacing, make a new cover for the seat, make up new mounting lugs for bits of fairing etc. The thing I'd like to sort asap is the handlebars - somone tried to nick it a while ago but failed to notice it was locked so they dropped it and bent the 'bars a little - I want slightly wider ones anyway. I knew it needed a coat of looking at when I bought it, but it was £v.cheap so I'm not going to complain.

Seeing as it came with 6 months MOT I've just got scrape together tax money and £57 to insure it before I can get out on it.

£57!!! Thats dear!

Yeah, well I knew the insurance was always gong to be expensive due to my complete and total lack of no claims bonus...

To be honest I wasn't even looking to buy another bike at the moment... I was talking to some friends about getting a boxer twin BMW later in the year when someone mentioned having this for sale 'cheap'.

One thing led to another, which led to a drive up to Liverpool - I hadn't even seen a photo before I got there.

Is anyone here interested in a sort-of 'project'/general rambling about working on it thread? If so, I'll keep updating as I break bits

I have the Enfield. It is what it is. Brilliant for Sunday morning lane bashing. But not any use for commuting to Bristol 150mls away- and returning the same day.

I've found a few bits that need doing on this, but it's too cold for me to do any more than look at the moment...

Once I find my warm jumper and grow a pair I'll get on do something - and if I'm feeling generous I'll start a whole new thread - won't be this coming weekend though I imagine, I'm picking up a greenhouse.

(I might even start a couple of other threads on the other project bikes, '77 XL250 and a couple of pre '73 CB250s...)

In the spirit of sharing the knowledge, I did indeed pick up the greenhouse.

Last week, I sold it.

I now have a bigger one, which while being heavier is lighterer. It's also still in bits.

Greenhouse tend to be light. That's why they make them of glass!!!
