Helmets...
Have an ancient AGV R1, that has done the job up to now. But it's getting on a bit, has scratches,
plastic vent covers are broken, straps are wearing.
Have tried on a AGV AX-8 Duo and was very surprised at how comfy and much better field
of view it has compared to my current on (size S) Have found it for £180 free delivery.
Anything else to recommend?

I use either a Shoei open face or an Indian copy of the German helmet with no safety numbers at all.

While that might have been somewhat true when Bell helmets coined the marketing phrase and there weren't any 'standards' as such, things have (hopefully) moved on a bit. These days if it's got the type approval and it fits right then it should be at least adequate.
I say 'hopefully' because I just got a new flip front helmet from lidl And an open face one for
